Thank you for your interest in Pioneer Valley Therapeutic Riding Association Inc. Click on the links below for the Riders Release and the Physician's Referral forms. These forms must be completed and returned to the address above before lessons can begin. We require payment in advance or at the time of each lesson. The cost per lesson for a group lesson is $35 and per lesson for a private lesson is $50.
Proper attire is required. Riders should wear long pants such as riding pants, sweat pants or leggings regardless of the weather. This protects the skin from rubbing and hot saddles during the summer heat. Blue jeans can be worn with layers in the cold weather. Boots with a heel is suggested, but not required. PVTRA uses peacock stirrups as a safety measure which allows sneakers to be worn. No open-toed shoes, sandals or slippery- bottomed shoes will be allowed.
PVTRA requires all the riders to wear an ASTM/SEI helmet. If you do not have your own, then we will provide one for use during the lessons. Please, no barrettes under helmets for safety. Long hair must be pulled back in a low ponytail.
Siblings are welcome to come to the lessons, but they must be under parental supervision at all times. We look forward to your participation in our therapeutic riding program. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to call 413-668-8260.
